Metal Wire & Fiber combinations in Regency Era Bags and purses
Georgian and Regency purses often have wire and fiber constructions. When the wire is darkened it is most likely oxidized (tarnished Silver). Later Victorian bags did not use solid metal wire. They wrapped a fine wire around a thread core.
