European glass beads
European glass seed beads, mainly from Italy and Bohemia (now called the Czech Republic), were the major sources of the tiny beads in these early 19th century bags. Most were round but some were faceted. The color formulas were family secrets. Colors like red required gold. Contemporary repairs require antique beads. They have become increasingly more difficult to find. The best sources are dealers on Etsy.
